NEW CREATION

Baptism is a central practice in the life of an apprentice of Jesus.

 

In obedience, we identify with Christ in His baptism. We enter the waters which represent His death - our death - and re-emerge signifying that we are resurrected with Christ - a new creation. 

 

We also identify with His body - the Church - as we are baptized within the context of community. It is in the waters of baptism we make an outward declaration of what has already happened internally - that we have given Jesus lordship over our lives. As a church, we practice 'believer's baptism by immersion.'
