We believe that fullness of life for everyone begins right here in our community. We don't need to travel far to be a part of advancing the Kingdom of God. Many organizations are already successfully contributing to the good of our community and being the hands and feet of Jesus in the Tri-Region. Local mission begins right in our homes and workplaces - being good neighbours, practicing hospitality, and representing Christ well in every arena.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
The Winter Emergency Response (WER) is a collaborative community effort within the Tri-Municipal region to create temporary, emergency weather response for unsheltered residents who are vulnerable to serious, critical, or potentially fatal health impacts from cold exposure. The two regional programs are Late Night Cafe and daytime Warming Centres. Our building will be used as a Warming Center for the 23/24 season. ADVENT GIVING TREE
Each year, we champion the Tri-Region's municipal efforts to coordinate Christmas giving in our region and ensure everyone in need gets support. We set up an Advent Giving Tree in support of the Kinsmen/Kinette Christmas Hampers initiative. There are also other Ways to Give and volunteer opportunities throughout the community during the Christmas season.
NEIGHBOURLINK PARKLAND
Neighbourlink Parkland is a Christian resource network and non-profit charity funded by the support of the community - local churches, organizations, and individuals. It strives to improve the quality of life of our neighbours, by providing hope, compassion, and help to those who are hurting and in need. We partner with them in a variety of ways throughout the year, check out their website for ways you can get directly involved.
GOOD SAMARITAN STONY PLAIN CARE CENTRE
The Stony Plain Care Centre is a private long-term care facility that provides a home-like environment for residents living with dementia and other conditions requiring around the clock staffing. Our partnership is dynamic and ongoing depending on the programming needs of the facility.
