BREATHE | June 2023

Updated: Jun 28, 2023

There is a popular notion that modern problems require modern solutions. The thinking goes that with the complexity of life in 2023, with all its stresses, anxieties, and demands that we are experiencing as humans, what we need most is new answers to these new questions. This may seem like the sophisticated approach but what if there is a better way? What if our modern problems are best resolved by discovering ancient pathways to fullness of life? Jeremiah 6:16 invites us to this exact journey:

This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it."

Over the four weeks of June, we are going to recover the goodness of Sabbath as a community by embracing this ancient practice that God has gifted to His people. As we walk in Jesus’ good way together, we believe that we will find rest for our souls.

Before we rush off to our summer plans and attempts to renew our energy, it’s time to Stop. Rest. Delight. Worship. It’s time to breathe.
